Joey,
welcome to Stunning Men and a big thank you for taking the time to do the
interview. You are from Philadelphia, USA ...
Yes,
this is correct.
First
thing first ... how did you get into modelling?
I
was scouted while working at a bar. It seemed like something different and
unfamiliar so I was intrigued.
What
do you think is the most fulfilling thing about modelling?
Bettering
yourself, competing with yourself and seeing your long time dreams come to life.
How
comfortable are you in showing off your physique in a shoot?
You
have to be comfortable with your body to get the best shot possible, I try and
always remember that.
Which
other fitness model would you like to do a shoot with given the opportunity?
Anyone
with a positive attitude would be an inspiration. Especially if we could
exchange tips on working out and motivation techniques.
You
are looking great. How did you get into such shape?
Good
old fashion hard work. Paying attention to what I eat, and sticking to it every
day, even when you don’t want to.
When
did your passion for fitness start?
In
high school I noticed how good I felt after swim practice. I remember being
fascinated with that mind body connection, and what physical exercise could do
for the inner consciousness.
What keeps you determined and driven to work out?
This
morning's workout.
What
is your diet like?
I'm
a bit of a nutrition nerd ... Lots of good fats like avocados, nuts, olive oil,
eggs, etc. They’re good for the brain, which affects our mood, energy and
memory. Veggies - Phytonutrients vital in producing cancer-fighting cells.
Garlic, tea, ginger and other spices - anti-inflammatory, immune health,
anti-oxidants.
Something
fermented for live cultures and probiotics - Kimchi, sauerkraut, miso soup - This
keeps the healthy bacteria in your gut, and the gut predestines the brain.
And
of course, protein, lean ground turkey and fish, nuts, eggs, and low fat Greek
yogurt are some of my favourites.
If
you had a cheat day, what would be your favourite food?
Every
humans' weakness...Pizza and ice cream!
Can
you share your fitness regimen with us?
I
wake up every day, put my shoes on, and step out the door. The rest just takes
care of itself.
And
what’s the best form of cardio for you?
Running,
it strengthens everything if properly done.
Now
a few quick fun questions if we may? Do you think you are a good date?
I
may be a little biased, but yes, I do.
Your
favourite song or piece of music to play while training or running?
Anything
soulful. Something that someone put their heart into.
Do
you have any other passions besides fitness?
Life
in general, and all of its mysteries. Jack of all trades, master of none.
What
can’t you live without?
The
truth.
Could
you finish these two sentences for us? You wouldn’t know, but I’m very good at
… giving back massages.
Now
... I’m just not very good at
… being interviewed.
Well
… we hope it wasn’t too much of a drag ... One last question
Joey, what is your big dream?
To
embrace the joy life, and face it with an open heart.
Joey,
it has been a real pleasure to interview you! Thank you for your time and for
being such good sport. All the best for the future.
