Here's Tim's full interview

Tim, welcome to Stunning Men and a big thank you for taking the time to do the interview.

No problem, thanks for having me!

Could we start off with talking a little about yourself and your background? You live in Perth, Australia but are from New Zealand ...

Yes, I was born in Wellington, New Zealand and lived there till 2005 in which I moved to Perth and haven’t looked back since, I love it here! I’m currently studying Civil Engineering and working as a Civil Draftsman and love to play basketball.

How did you get into modelling?

Luck really; I never intended to be a model. I always loved working out, bodybuilding and seeing change in my body. I was told to do it by multiple people but just took it as a compliment until one day I decided “Oh why not?!”

What do you enjoy the most about it?

Meeting new people and having fun on the set.

How do you prepare before a photoshoot?

Nothing special, I just try not to bloat myself with a large meal or drinking too much fluid beforehand. I tend to drink lots of water as part of a diet so tapering that down is usually the key for me.

You have a great physique. How do you keep in shape and healthy? Do you practise any sport?

Cheers! I work out 5 days a week normally with a different muscle group each session; my diet is pretty consistent with good quality proteins, carbs and fats as well as a low calorie intake; it works well for me. Sadly I don’t play too much sport anymore as I have a very busy schedule, but when I was younger I use to play field hockey and up until recently played basketball.

What are your top three favourite gym exercises and why?
Compound movements are king, for me I’d say the incline dumbbell press for a thick upper chest, squats to strengthen your legs and improve the quad sweep and deadlifts are my overall favourite. These bad boys will transform your physique like no other!

What’s the best form of cardio for you?

I normally mix it up as I hate a moderate jog on the treadmill, normally HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) although I have cardio and rarely do it.

How do you keep motivated?

I’ve been working out for years now, when I was younger it was hard, I use to use lots of things to motivate me such as ‘girls’, being the biggest of my mates and lots of external factors. As I’ve stuck at it and matured with my training my motivation comes from within and pushing myself. I train to improve how I see myself now, not how others see me.

How do you fit training and fitness into your life? Is it a difficult thing to achieve?

It can be a difficult thing, trying to juggle University, working a demanding job as well as other little bits and pieces but to me it’s a must do if a workout falls on that day I’ll get it done that day one way or another.

You are a good looking guy – what do you think is your best asset?

(Tim laughs) You’re too kind! Hmm it’s a hard one for me ... lots of people comment on my chest so I’ll have to say that is.

And if you could change one thing about your body, what would that be?

Nothing really, maybe to be a bit more shredded but it’ll come with time (big smile).

How do you approach a challenge?

As an opportunity to test myself; I usually don’t back down from a challenge and will keep at it until it’s done one way or another!

What do you do in your down time?

Hanging out with mates, shooting hoops or lazing out playing computer games are my favorite things to do.

Do you have any role models? People who inspire you?

Not really, I tend to take a bit from this person and a bit from that person. Although if I had to give a name I’d say my mum ... I’m a bit of a mumma’s boy at heart (another smile).

Now a few quick fun questions if we may? Do you think you are a good date?

(Tim laughs again) Sure! I get along with almost everyone I meet even if it didn’t grow into something more I’m sure we’d both leave happy.

What do you think is the secret to a good relationship?

Honesty and Trust.

Are you a brief man or a boxer kinda guy?

Brief man by day, boxer guy by night although only when I’m sleeping.

What do you listen to on your iPod?

It’s definitely a mixed bag and I have a bit of everything, at the moment I’m loving Kid Cudis’ album.

Your favourite song/piece of music to play while training/running?

Nothing gets me more pumped than Android Porn by Kraddy. I also have a playlist which consists of heavy metal and some gangster stuff to keep my going.

What kind of movies do you like?

Comedy definitely takes the cake for this question, also I love a good action or thriller flick.

What can’t you live without?

My Mobile Phone ... feels like I’m stuck in the stone age when I’m without it!

You wouldn’t know, but I’m very good at ...

Call of Duty, I’ll destroy anyone online (big smile)

I’m just not very good at ...

Remembering important things, it’s usually in one ear and out the other unless I make a reminder.

What’s the best thing ever invented?

Ice Cream, definitely would be lost if this magically disappeared.

What three words describe you best?

Honest, Playful and Hard-Working.

One last question Tim, where do you see yourself and what would you like to be doing in 10 years time?

Jeez ... I can’t even see a month from now! (Tim laughs) Hopefully as a qualified engineer, still modelling and enjoying life as much as I do now.

Tim, it has been a real pleasure to interview you! Thank you for your time and for being a good sport. All the best for the future!

No worries  ... any time!
