Here is Dan's interview in full

Dan, a warm welcome to Stunning Men and many thanks for taking the time to do the interview.
Thank you, it is my pleasure.

Could we start off with talking a little about yourself and your background? You come from Leicestershire, England, right?
I’m 16! I have grown up in a small village in the middle of Leicestershire. I have always been extremely active and generally led a healthy lifestyle.

You must get this all the time and we don’t want to keep referring to this ... so let’s get it out of the way ... you have an incredible physique for a 16 year old guy! How do you do it and how did it all start?
Thank you very much, as I said above I have always been very active and have always done a wide range of sports. I was introduced to Martial Arts at the age of 6 and I found my first passion. In Martial Arts you have to have determination, will power and must persevere. I believe that these qualities have helped me with my gym training, throughout the hardest sessions and when dieting down really gets mentally tough.

How do you stay healthy?
I am a firm believer that you are what you eat. If you eat like crap you’ll get crap results! If you eat well you will get good results. In my opinion nutrition is the key factor to getting that body you want. I stick to a well balanced diet, which includes such things as, lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish), both HIGH GI and LOW GI carbohydrates (oats, brown rice, banana, apples and good healthy fats like peanut butter, omega 3 oils and almonds).

Do you do any sport?
I have always trained in Martial Arts, Taekwondo and kickboxing mainly. I thoroughly dedicated my life pretty much to training from the age of 6 to 14. I gained my black belt by the time I was 9 years old and second degree by 11. I have won many regional and national medals. I was the youngest ever athlete to represent England at the world championships where I gained a silver medal in the under 18 category.

That’s impressive Dan! What is your best lift at the gym?
My legs have always been my strong part; my Martial Art training has helped with this. For leg training you need powerful explosive legs. My best lift is 150kg squat for 3 reps; at 16 nearly a record!

What are your top three favourite exercises and why?
The Big 3: Squatting, dead lifting and bench pressing.
These movements are essential in my training routine, they are compound movements meaning more than one muscle/joint is working at the same time. They help with all over body strength and are a brilliant mass builder.

What’s the best form of cardio for you?
I love doing slow steady paced cardio on an empty stomach as soon as I get up. I walk up and down the stairs for 40 minutes. This is brilliant for those of you who live alone but my family hate me waking them up at the crack of dawn every day!

What’s your gym/training routine like?
I stick to a 5 day training routine and with two days rest. I feel getting enough rest is imperative to making gains and keeping growth at the optimal level. My routine is chest, back, shoulders, legs, arms.

How do you keep motivated?
I always look up to people in the industry such as, Greg Plitt and Rob Riches. These are great inspirations to me and I had the pleasure of meeting Rob at this year’s Bodypower. He gave me some great tips to enhance my training and I was very grateful.

How do you fit bodybuilding and fitness into your life? Is it a difficult thing to achieve?
I found it difficult when I was studying at school, fitting in meals and preparation of them was the hardest part along with actually being able to afford all the food that I consume on a daily basis. But I knew what I wanted and I just managed to fit it in! If you want something bad enough you will find a way of doing it.

What do you eat in a normal day?
I am keeping to a strict KETO diet at the moment to try and loose the last bit of body fat. This consists of high protein, medium fat no carb diet. Very gruelling for the first week or so but I’ve got used to it! I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!

Do you allow yourself a cheat day? If so, what is your guilty pleasure?
I feel it’s very important to have a cheat day especially being at a young age. I love to socialise with my friends and get away from all the dieting and training and have whatever I want. My guilty pleasure is part of my diet so pretty good! It’s peanut butter! Love the stuff!

What do you find the most challenging being a young fitness athlete?
People often disregarding me due to my age, people saying I am not ready. I know a lot of people are warning me of the possible dangers. But I’m trying to find a photographer who will shoot me!

What about fitness and bodybuilding competitions?
I am very interested in competing next year; I am trying to pack on a bit more size after July for around 6 months to increase thickness so I will be ready for a teen category next year.

You have just done your first professional work with Justin Tayler. How was that?
It was a truly amazing experience. I was really grateful to Justin who gave me the opportunity to shoot with him for the NEW FACES COMPETITION. I am trying to get my name known around and about and this was the perfect opportunity for me to do this.

Good luck with the competition Dan! Would you consider a career in modelling?
I definitely would consider modelling yes. I do realise that there isn’t much money in the industry. But I hope one day to be a sponsored athlete and share my experiences with other people who love fitness!

What’s the best advice you have been given about modelling?
To try and get as many photoshoots as possible to build a portfolio but also to be careful of the dangers that arise in this industry.

What do you do in your down time?
I don't have much free time with the training and all that but when I do I like spending time with my mates and my family, go on walks and hikes ...

Now a few quick fun questions if you are game? Do you think you are a good date?
I’m a single man! Always been a single man! Not up for anything serious yet! But love a bit of fun!

Are you a brief man or a boxer kinda guy?
Definitely boxers! Tight.

What do you listen to on your iPod?
Anything in the charts really I'm not to fussed.

Your favourite song/piece of music to play while running?
A bodybuilding motivational video soundtrack! Gets me pumped!

One last question Dan, where do you see yourself and what would you like to be doing in 10 years time?
I would love to be a sponsored athlete and share the experiences I’ve learnt over the years and my thoughts with people. I would love to be a fully recognised fitness model and maybe one day be on a front cover!

We believe at Stunning Men that one day we will see you gracing the cover of health and fitness mags! Dan, it was really great and fun to do this interview with you! Thank you for your time and for being such good sport. All the best for the future!
