Ryan Mathew Daharsh is an American model. He was born in 1984 in Lincoln and brought up in Crete, Nebraska . This former high school football and wrestling star took the world by storm when he first entered the modelling world. As of 2009 Ryan is based in New York City.
A few trivial things about Ryan. He had many dogs growing up and his favourite was Sasha, a black Sharpei. His nickname is Ryry and he loves it when his nieces shout for uncle Ryry! He loves cereals and in particular Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds and Crunch Berries. His favourite movie is True Romance, starring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette. Ryan says that he digs Christian Slater character because he shows in full how far you will go for true love.
Ryan says that he is the biggest mama's boy and that he loves it!
One of Ryan’s favourite crazy nights in New York was at Halloween two years ago. He says that by the end of the night they had a Limo full of rowdy wild and crazy guys and girls in costume ... Ryan’s favourite drink is Makers Mark with a splash of Ginger Ale.
Ryan says he was 19 when he first found love but it only lasted 8 months.
Ryan got into modelling by being approached in a bar. He says he got tipsy and low and behold an Abercrombie scout was in there and approached him to model for them. A few weeks later he was in Brazil for eight days! Ryan didn’t find the transition from fitness to fashion modelling too difficult; he just had to stop lifting heavy weight and to loose muscle mass – in fact he lost 40 lbs!
Ryan’s favourite shoot is an Abercrombie campaign he shot at a wild life reserve in Jacksonville, Florida. He got to shoot and play with two Cheetahs. He admits he was definitely nervous!
Ryan’s work includes modelling for All American Guys, he has been seen on several runways for Armani, and also appeared in numerous ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabana, Nautica, Aussie Bum, Nico and Adrian, Bloomingdales, Vogue Italia, Rufskin and Abercrombie & Fitch. He has also featured in the German GQ, Tetu, DNA, Men’s Exercise and Out Magazines.
Ryan was named as a one of the modelling world's future stars in Interview Magazine.
His training consists of tri-set exercises. So he is constantly going. It combines strength training with cardio. Light weights high reps and keep moving! Fitness is a big part of Ryan’s life. His mum is a former bodybuilder, so you could say he's learned from the best in terms of his physical training. His interests are varied. On some days you can catch him playing golf, on other days he's racing his motorbike across the desert.
Ryan is definitely an adrenaline junky. His attitude is one of confidence and resilience.
He is looking to pursue not only modelling but acting as well. He's been getting plenty of attention from people in modelling and entertainment alike - and for good reason.
When asked to describe himself in five words, he says, "Loving, over-protective, passionate, pure, and very fortunate." His favourite part of his body are his eyes, he explains, "My eyes are kinda like mood rings for they depict my mood in colour and shape."
